OAKLAND, Calif., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Travis Niesen led the way Friday night as Santa Clara pulled off the biggest upset of the young season, downing No. 3 North Carolina, 77-66.
Niesen scored a career-high 26 points and Kyle Bailey added 20.

The Broncos improved to 3-1 and beat a ranked foe for the first time in nine seasons.
North Carolina opened its season without suspended point guard Raymond Felton. Rashad McCants led the Tar Heels with 20 points while Sean May had 19 and Jawad Williams 11.
Santa Clara led at the half, 29-26.
