NBA: Dallas 94, New Jersey 78

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points, seven rebounds and seven assists Saturday afternoon as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the New Jersey Nets, 94-78.

Jerry Stackhouse added 28 points for Dallas, which improved to 6-1.

"I thought the key to the game was that Stackhouse came off the bench and was a dominant player," said Dallas Coach Don Nelson. "Not only did he score, but he moved the ball."

Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Zoran Planinic had 16 points and nine rebounds and Eric Williams 15 points and seven rebounds for Newq Jersey.

The game was tied with 7:36 left in the third quarter, before Dallas went on a 13-2 burst, with eight points from Stackhouse, to take a 66-55 lead.
