Eagles Rayburn injured in car crash

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Phildelphia Eagles defensive tackle Sam Rayburn was released from a hospital early Tuesday after treatment for an injury suffered in a car crash.

Police said Rayburn, 24, was involved in a two-car accident in northeast Philadelphia, and needed "a few stitches" for a cut on his head.

Rayburn "was treated by Eagles team physicians at Pennsylvania Hospital following the accident and was released this morning," a statement from the team said.

"His status for this week's game vs. the Cowboys is unknown at this time and will be updated on Wednesday afternoon."

The Philadelphia Daily News said a freelance photographer who went to the accident scene reported that Rayburn's Cadillac SUV was badly damaged.
