Krenzel, who took over for Jonathan Quinn in the second half of last week's loss to Tampa Bay, completed 13 of his 25 passes Sunday night. He threw a 49-yard TD strike to Bernard Berrian on his first pass of the game. That gave the Bears (2-5) an early 7-0 lead.

Bears running back Thomas Jones left the game in the first quarter with a foot injury. Anthony Thomas replaced him and rushed for 98 yards.

The Bears ended a four-game losing streak.

Dwaine Carpenter scored on an 80-yard fumble return and Todd Peterson kicked two field goals for the 49ers (1-6).
