Safin wins title in Madrid

MADRID, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Russian Marat Safin beat Argentine David Nalbandian 6-2, 6-4, 6-3 Sunday for the Madrid Masters championship.

Safin claimed his 13th ATP title and second this year.

The Russian is now 5-1 against Nalbandian, who has not won this year.
