OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Bobby Crosby's fly to right field scored Esteban German in the ninth inning and gave Oakland a 6-5 win over the Seattle Mariners Monday.

The American League West-leading Athletics maintained their one-game lead over Anaheim.

Jermaine Dye hit a home run and drove in three runs for Oakland.

Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki had a hit to move within six of breaking the all-time single season hits record of 257.

Oakland reliever Octavio Dotel (5-6) pitched a scoreless ninth inning and got the win.
