MLB: Oakland 6, Anaheim 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- The Oakland Athletics recorded a 6-3 win Friday over the Anaheim Angels at Angel Stadium.

Rich Harden tossed seven strong innings and Eric Byrnes had a two-run homer. Harden (11-6) limited the Angels to two runs on four hits to improve to 8-1 with a 3.47 ERA since the All-Star break. He struck out six and walked three.

Troy Glaus drove in the first two runs for the Angels.

Starter Kelvim Escobar (10-12) lasted five innings and took the loss, surrendering five runs on seven hits and three walks while fanning six.

Anaheim's Dallas McPherson had a solo homer off Octavio Dotel in the ninth.
