HOUSTON, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Drew Brees completed 17 of 24 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns Sunday to lead San Diego past Houston, 27-20.
LaDainian Tomlinson gained 121 yards rushing and had a touchdown run on 26 attempts for the winners.

Domanick Davis had 87 yards rushing for the Texans, but had two costly fumbles.
Houston also was hurt by the two interceptions thrown by quarterback David Carr as it was thwarted in its attempt to become the first expansion team to win its first three season-openers.
