Eagles offensive lineman breaks leg

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Offensive lineman Shawn Andrews, Philadelphia's No. 1 draft pick this year, broke his right leg in Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Head Coach Andy Reid said after the Eagles' 31-17 victory that Andrews will miss the rest of the season.

Andrews was the 16th overall pick of the draft and the second offensive lineman taken after Robert Gallery was picked second by Oakland. The Eagles traded with the San Francisco 49ers to get the 345-pound offensive tackle, moving from the 28th pick to the 16th.

The injury occurred late in the second quarter on a running play. The rookie from Arkansas had his leg immobilized and left the field on a cart.
