MLB: Houston 4, Chicago Cubs 3

HOUSTON, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Jason Lane capped a bottom-of-the-ninth rally with a bases-loaded single Saturday as the Houston Astros beat the Chicago Cubs, 4-3.

The Cubs had gone up 3-2 in the top of the ninth when Michael Barrett tripled in a run and scored another.

In the last of the ninth, Jeff Kent singled, Eric Bruntlett pinch-ran for Kent, and Morgan Ensberg attempted to move him over with a sacrifice bunt. Cubs' third baseman Jose Macias threw the ball wide of first, leaving the Astros with runners on second and third and no one out.

Jose Vizcaino tied the game with a single. Pinch-hitter Mike Lamb was intentionally walked to get to Lane, who sent a shot down the right-field line off Cubs' closer LaTroy Hawkins to end it.
