PITTSBURGH, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Jason Schmidt threw a four-hit shutout Thursday night as San Francisco blanked Pittsburgh, 7-0.
It was the 15th win for Schmidt, equaling the best in the majors.

Pittsburgh did not move a runner past second base as Schmidt produced his third shutout of the season. He struck out 11 and walked one. Schmidt has not lost in nine road starts this season.
Michael Tucker and Marquis Grissom both had two-run doubles in a four-run seventh to break open the contest.
