MLB: Tampa Bay 13, Baltimore 3

BALTIMORE, July 7 (UPI) -- Rob Bell pitched seven scoreless innings and Tampa Bay took advantage of a series of miscues to sail past Baltimore, 13-3.

Bell (3-3) allowed just two hits and a walk while striking out four as he avenged his last loss, a 5-4 setback here on June 6.

He was staked to a 3-0 lead before throwing a pitch and was in control thereafter.

Six outs shy of his first career shutout, Bell departed with a 6-0 lead after walking Larry Bigbie to lead off the eighth. Jesus Colome finished the eighth and Jorge Sosa gave up three meaningless runs in the ninth.

The Orioles committed three errors -- two in the first inning and one in the ninth, when the Devil Rays scored seven runs. Tampa Bay poured it on as a downpour hit the area.

Damian Rolls had three hits and three RBI and Julio Lugo and Aubrey Huff each added three hits for Tampa Bay, which has not lost a series since dropping two of three to the New York Yankees from May 28-30.
