MLB: St. Louis 5, Kansas City 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 25 (UPI) -- Scott Rolen doubled, homered and drove in four runs Friday night and Matt Morris tossed eight innings as St. Louis downed Kansas City, 5-2.

Rolen came into the game with a .393 batting average on the road and opened the scoring with a three-run double in the third. He raised his league-leading RBI total to 75 with a solo blast in the eighth.

Rolen, who is tied with Florida's Mike Lowell for the National League lead with 11 game-winning RBI, added a single in the second.

Morris (8-6) notched his fourth win in five decisions, allowing two runs and six hits in eight innings. He walked two and struck out eight and took a shutout into the eighth before serving up a two-run homer to Mike Sweeney.

John Mabry also homered for the Cardinals, who improved to 24-12 away from home.
