MLB: Texas 4, Florida 2 (11 innings)

MIAMI, June 20 (UPI) -- Hank Blalock hit a two-run homer off Billy Koch in the 11th inning Sunday as Texas squandered a ninth-inning lead before defeating Florida, 4-2.

The Marlins acquired Koch from the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night in hopes of bolstering their bullpen, and the righthander allowed a run and two hits in mop-up duty on Friday night.

Koch (0-1) worked a scoreless 10th on Sunday but got into trouble in the 11th when Michael Young singled and Blalock hit his 17th homer to right field.

Florida's Mike Lowell delivered an RBI single off Francisco Cordero in the ninth to tie the game at 2-2.

The Marlins' rally prevented Kenny Rogers from becoming the first pitcher in the major leagues to win 10 games. Rogers allowed one run and four hits in seven innings.

Ron Mahay (1-0) pitched a scoreless 11th for the victory.
