The 24-year-old righthander was given a 2-0 lead before taking the mound on RBI singles by Victor Martinez and Casey Blake, but he got into the act in the second with his first career hit -- a solo homer.

The last Indians pitcher to homer was Dwight Gooden on June 11, 1999 at Cincinnati.

Travis Hafner made it 4-0 with a run-scoring single in the third before Atlanta got on the board in the sixth on back-to-back homers by J.D. Drew and Chipper Jones.
