MLB: Texas 10, Pittsburgh 4 (2nd Game)

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 10 (UPI) -- Kenny Rogers became the American League's first nine-game winner Thursday night as Texas completed a doubleheader sweep of Pittsburgh, 10-4.

Brad Fullmer highlighted the Texas offense with the fifth grand slam homer of his career. The Rangers equaled their season high-water mark by moving nine games above .500.

Rogers served up a two-run homer to Jack Wilson in the first inning. But after halving the deficit in the second, Texas rallied for four runs in the third and never looked back.

Mark Teixeira's three-run blast was the big blow in the third, giving the Rangers a 5-2 cushion. Pittsburgh scratched out a run in the fifth, but Fullmer hit Texas' first grand slam of the season off Mike Johnston in the bottom of the inning to stretch the lead to 9-3.

Rogers (9-2) won his fifth straight decision, allowing four runs and nine hits in seven innings. He joined Houston's Roger Clemens as the only nine-game winners in the majors.
