Williams sisters, Mauresmo, Capriati win

PARIS, May 30 (UPI) -- Serena and Venus Williams, Amelie Mauresmo and Jennifer Capriati won fourth-round matches Sunday to reach the French Open quarterfinals.

Men advancing to the next round included third-seeded Guillermo Coria of Argentina and No. 5 Carlos Moya of Spain.

Serena Williams, the No. 2 seed, beat Shinobu Asagoe of Japan 6-3, 6-1.

France's Mauresmo, seeded No. 3, routed Magdalena Maleeva of Bulgaria 6-2, 6-1; the fourth-seeded Venus Williams defeated Fabiola Zuluaga of Colombia 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) and Capriati, No. 7, ousted Francesca Schiavone of Italy 7-5, 6-1.

Russia's Elena Dementieva beat fifth-seeded Lindsay Davenport of the United States 6-1, 6-3. Davenport committed 28 unforced errors.

Other quarterfinalists are Russia's Anastasia Myskina and 17-year-old Maria Sharapova and Paola Suarez of Argentina.

Coria's opponent, Nicolas Ecude of France, retired after the first set because of an injury. Coria had won the set 6-0.

England's Tim Henman and Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina also advanced. The other four men's quarterfinal spots will be decided in matches Monday.
