Mauresmo, Coria, Davenport, Moya advance

PARIS, May 28 (UPI) -- France's Amelie Mauresmo and Spain's Guillermo Coria, both No. 3 seeds, won third-round matches Friday at the French Open.

Mauresmo won 6-3, 6-2 over Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain.

Coria cruised past Croatia's Mario Ancic 6-3, 6-1, 6-2.

Other winners on the women's side included American veteran Lindsay Davenport, seeded fifth, who defeated qualifier Marissa Irvin of Santa Monica, Calif., 6-1, 6-4, and Russian 17-year-old Maria Sharapova, seeded 18th, who scored a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory over countrywoman Vera Zvonareva, No. 10.

Germany's Marlene Weingartner knocked out the No. 8 seed, Nadia Petrova, 6-3, 6-2, and 14th-seeded Paola Suarez of Argentina beat Tatiana Perebiynis of Ukraine 6-3-6-3.

Fifth-seeded Carlos Moya of Spain topped Raemon Sluiter of the Netherlands 6-0, 6-3, 6-4; Britain's Tim Henman, seeded ninth, ousted Galo Blanco of Spain 7-6, (7-3), 6-1, 6-2; Tommy Robredo of Spain beat No. 11 Nicolas Massu of Chile, and Russian Marat Safin eliminated Spain's Felix Mantilla.
