NHL: Calgary 4, San Jose 1

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 12 (UPI) -- Marcus Nilson scored 20 seconds after the game started and Calgary never trailed Tuesday, beating San Jose 4-1 for a 2-0 lead in their NHL Western Conference playoff series.

Shean Donovan got another goal for Calgary before San Jose cut the margin to 2-1 in the second period on a goal by Alyn McCauley.

Ville Nieminen and Jarome Iginla knocked in goals in a 44-second span in the third to put the game away for the Flames.

The win was the fourth straight for Calgary in the playoffs. The Flames, who won the series opener 4-3 in overtime

Sunday, have a 6-2 road record in the post-season. The Sharks have lost three straight at home.

Miika Kiprusoff made 17 saves for the Flames and Evgeni Nabokov had 16 for San Jose.

Game Three will be played Thursday in Calgary.
