Oakland 3, Anaheim 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 17 (UPI) -- Jermaine Dye keyed a three-homer attack with his sixth of the season as Oakland shut out Anaheim 3-0 Friday night.

Tim Hudson (2-0) scattered six hits in 7 1/3 innings for the A's. Adam Melhuse gave Hudson all the support he needed with a solo homer in the third inning off Anaheim starter Bartolo Colon.

Two batters after Oakland's Eric Byrnes led off the sixth with his first homer of the season, Dye extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a blast to left field.

Colon (2-1) suffered his first loss as an Angel, surrendering three runs and nine hits in eight innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
