MLB: Anaheim 5, Seattle 1

SEATTLE, April 8 (UPI) -- Adam Kennedy delivered a two-run single to trigger a five-run ninth inning Thursday as Anaheim finished a three-game sweep of Seattle, 5-1.

After scoring 20 runs and banging out 28 hits in the first two games, Anaheim managed just three singles and a double through eight innings against Freddy Garcia and Julio Mateo.

But the Angels erased a 1-0 deficit in the ninth against the combination of Mike Myers and Shigetoshi Hasegawa (0-1).

Garret Anderson led off with a single against Myers. Hasegawa, who saved 16 games last season, came on and gave up singles to Troy Glaus and Jose Guillen to load the bases.

On a 1-1 count, Kennedy laced a single past second baseman Bret Boone, putting Anaheim ahead. Hasegawa balked in another run and Darin Erstad provided some insurance with a two-run double.
