COL BKB: St. Joseph's 84, Wake Forest 80

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., March 26 (UPI) -- Delonte West scored 24 points Thursday night, including two free throws with 6.4 seconds left to clinch St. Joseph's 84-80 win over Wake Forest.

St. Joseph's advanced to the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament and will meet Oklahoma State on Saturday with a berth in the Final Four on the line.

Jameer Nelson also had 24 points and Pat Carroll chipped in 17 for the Hawks (30-1).

Wake Forest (21-10) trailed by 11 points with 5:52 remaining but twice pulled within two points. A layup by Justin Gray made it 82-80 with 11.9 seconds left.

West was fouled with 6.4 seconds left and swished his first attempt. His second shot bounced off the rim before dropping through and Wake Forest's Chris Paul missed a three-pointer before time ran out.

Gray scored 20 points and Eric Williams had 19 for the Demon Deacons, who led by as many as nine points early before settling for a 38-37 halftime edge.
