NHL: Anaheim 8, Detroit 6

ANAHEIM, Calif., March 21 (UPI) -- Sergei Fedorov had two goals and an assist Sunday as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim overcame a three-goal deficit for an 8-6 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Detroit ranks fifth in the NHL defensively, allowing just 2.18 goals per game. Goals by Pavel Datysuk, Brett Hull and Steve Yzerman staked the Red Wings to a 3-0 lead just over 6 1/2 minutes into the game.

Anaheim roared back with the next five goals, only to see Detroit score three straight for a 6-5 lead.

Vitaly Vishnevski ended a 14-game drought at 2:17 of the third period, just 36 seconds after Ray Whitney put the Red Wings ahead.

Fedorov got the game-winner, redirecting a feed from Rob Niedermayer for his 29th goal of the season and second against the team with which he spent his first 13 seasons.

Steve Rucchin sealed the victory with his second goal of the night.
