CHICAGO, March 17 (UPI) -- Rod Brind'Amour scored a goal and set up the other two Wednesday night as Carolina kept its slim playoff hopes alive with a 3-2 win over Chicago.
Erik Cole produced the game-winner with 4:22 remaining.
Playing in his 1,100th NHL game, Brind'Amour reached the 900-point mark in the first period with an assist on Craig Adams' goal.
The 33-year-old lifted Carolina into a 2-2 tie with 3.2 seconds left in the second period, then completed his first three-point game of the season late in the third.
Brind'Amour created a turnover along the left boards and whipped a cross-ice pass to Cole, who leaned into a one-timer from the top of the right faceoff circle to beat goaltender Michael Leighton inside the far goalpost.
It was the third game-winner for Cole, who has four goals and four assists in his last seven games.
