Brian Davis of England was three strokes back and Paul Casey and Simon Dyson of England and Bradley Dredge of Wales trailed by five. Tiger Woods shot a 69 and remained six off the lead at 8-under 208. Ernie Els was another stroke back.

McGinley had a two-shot lead with five holes to play but O'Meara got three straight birdies and took the lead until McGinley's chip on the last hole.

"I felt I had to play smart golf," McGinley said. "It was a case of hanging in there, playing the course properly and not getting into too much trouble."

McGinley is ranked 159th in the world. O'Meara hasn't won an official tour event since the 1998 British Open and has slipped to 201st in the rankings.
