NHL: Toronto 6, New York Islanders 2

TORONTO, March 4 (UPI) -- Brian Leetch had three assists in his Toronto debut Thursday night, helping the Maple Leafs down the New York Islanders, 6-2.

A two-time Norris Trophy winner, Leetch was acquired from the New York Rangers on Wednesday and immediately made his impact felt.

The 36-year-old Leetch picked up assists on two of Toronto's first three goals. He added one in the third period as the Maple Leafs ran their winning streak to three games.

Leetch has been particularly tough on the Islanders in 2003-04, recording three goals and nine assists in seven games. His teams have won all of those games.

Former Islanders defenseman Bryan McCabe had a pair of power-play goals for Toronto, which scored on three of its seven opportunities with the man advantage.
