SAN ANTONIO, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan had 27 points and 13 rebounds and Manu Ginobili scored 21 points Tuesday as San Antonio won its 13th straight home game against Houston, 86-77.
San Antonio returned from a seven-game road trip to face Houston, which has not posted a road win in the series since April 20, 1997, two months before the Spurs drafted Duncan.
The Spurs, who went 6-1 on their 20-day trek, posted their eighth win in nine games.
Houston seemed ready to snap its six-game overall slide in the series before San Antonio bridged the final two quarters with a 21-5 run. Duncan and Ginobili each scored eight points during the spurt, which gave the Spurs an 81-66 cushion with 4:14 remaining.
Hedo Turkoglu scored 17 points for San Antonio.
Yao Ming, who scored 41 points Sunday against Atlanta, had 20 as the Rockets lost for the third time in nine games.
