NBA: LA Lakers 98, Miami 83

MIAMI, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Shaquille O'Neal and Derek Fisher scored 16 straight points for the LA Lakers in a game-ending 20-6 run Tuesday for a 98-83 victory over the Miami Heat.

After Rafer Alston's 3-pointer cut Miami's deficit to 78-77 with 7:13 remaining, Fisher scored the next eight points to give the Lakers their biggest lead at 86-77.

Then O'Neal took over. The 7-2 center capped the duo's scoring binge with a steal and dunk for a 92-83 lead with 1:32 to play.

O'Neal scored 25 points and Fisher added 18 points off the bench for the Lakers, who improved to 4-2 on their seven-game road trip without Kobe Bryant.

Devean George had 17 points and 11 rebounds, helping the Lakers' reserves outscore the Heat's bench, 43-26.

Rookie Dwyane Wade scored 19 points and Lamar Odom had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Miami, which has lost five straight games.
