NBA: Cleveland 97, Boston 89

CLEVELAND, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Rookie LeBron James had 24 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 19 points and a 16 rebounds Monday as Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Boston Celtics, 97-89.

The Cavaliers snapped a 13-game losing streak to the Celtics, posting their first victory in the series since Nov. 4, 2000.

The Cavaliers trailed 84-83 with 8:18 left in the fourth quarter before going on a 9-0 spurt. Eric Williams, acquired from the Celtics in a multi-player trade in December, gave Cleveland the lead for good with a jumper and a three-pointer. James added two free throws and Jeff McInnis' basket gave the Cavaliers a 92-84 advantage with 5:41 left.

Cleveland went ahead 97-87 with 1:39 to go. Williams had seven of his 16 points in the fourth quarter.

Paul Pierce scored 32 points and Mark Blount 13 for Boston, which lost for the seventh time in the last eight games.
