NBA: Indiana 85, LA Lakers 72

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Ron Artest scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds Monday as the Indiana Pacers beat the LA Lakers for the first time in six tries, with an 85-72 victory.

Al Harrington added 16 points and seven rebounds and reserve Austin Croshere added 12 and nine for the Pacers, who held the Lakers to 10 fewer points than their previous season low, set at Memphis on Jan. 21.

The Pacers were without All-Star forward Jermaine O'Neal, who suffered a neck injury in a 99-98 win over Boston on Saturday. The Lakers were missing center Shaquille O'Neal, who was handed a one-game suspension by the NBA earlier Monday for criticizing officials in his team's 84-83 victory at Toronto on Sunday.

The Lakers, also were missing injured stars Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone, suffered their 10th loss in 12 road games.
