Purdue (4-0) opened the second half with a 16-2 run, erasing a six-point halftime deficit and taking the lead for good. Lowe had a three-pointer, a leaner in the lane, and another basket before David Teague capped the run with a three-pointer for a 49-41 advantage with 14 1/2 minutes remaining.

Teague finished with 19 points for Purdue, which joined North Carolina, N.C. State, and Kentucky as the only teams to win this tournament more than once.

Duke (3-1) never found its rhythm and ended up shooting 38 percent (27-of-71) from the field. Luol Deng and Shelden Williams each scored 15 points for the Blue Devils, but Deng missed 10 of his first 11 shots and went 6-of-20 from the floor.
