COL BKB: Georgia Tech 85, Texas Tech 65

NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Jarrett Jack scored 17 points to lead six players in double figures Friday night as Georgia Tech downed 25th-ranked Texas Tech, 85-65.

Georgia Tech claimed its first Preseason NIT title.

The Yellow Jackets (5-0) upset No. 1 Connecticut in the semifinals and never trailed in this one. They had a 43-28 halftime advantage and led by as many as 27 points.

Reserve Isma'il Muhammad, who scored 22 points in Wednesday's upset, added 16 Friday night. He made all seven of his shots, helping Georgia Tech improve to 5-0 for the first time since the 1994-95 season.

Texas Tech was led by Andre Emmett, who scored 25 points. But the Red Raiders were not in it after Georgia Tech used a 12-2 run to take a 28-18 lead.
