ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Quarterback Ryan Schneider of Central Florida has been suspended for the remainder of the season for a violation of team rules.
The school did not disclose details of the violation. UCF, a member of the Mid-American Conference, is 3-6 with three games remaining.
The suspension ends the career of Schneider, a senior, who finishes second on the school's all-time passing yards list behind current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper.
In nine games this season, he completed 194-of-281 passes for 1,949 yards, with 13 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Schneider has thrown a touchdown pass in a school-record 28 straight games, a school record. He ranks 14th on the NCAA's all-time list in touchdown passes (82) and 12th in passing yards (10,976).
Also suspended for a similar reason was redshirt freshman center Cedric Gagne-Marcoux.
UCF has games remaining against Eastern Michigan, Marshall, and Miami (Ohio).
