NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Atlanta 2 (OT)

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Pavel Kubina scored a shorthanded goal with 92 seconds left in overtime Tuesday to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers.

Taking the puck from behind his own blue line on a turnover, Kubina skated past Yannick Tremblay and Slava Kozlov before putting a backhand shot past Pasi Nurminen for the winning goal.

The Lightning earned their franchise-record fourth straight win after blowing a 2-0 lead. Cory Stillman scored power-play goals in the first two periods.

Ilya Kovalchuk scored his league-leading sixth goal with 4:01 left and Marc Savard tied the game 2:39 later as the Thrashers ended the shutout bid of Nikolai Khabibulin, who made 37 saves.
