COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Michael Jenkins scored on a punt 52 yard punt return and No. 8 Ohio State also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to take a 19-10 win over No. 9 Iowa.
Ohio State scored two touchdowns on special teams while the Hawkeyes managed their only TD on a run out of field goal formation.
Ohio State (6-1) was held to just 10 points last week when it had a 19-game winning streak snapped at Wisconsin. The Buckeyes again had trouble offensively, but Jenkins helped bail them out with his punt return midway through the first quarter.
Ohio State increased its lead to 17-3 midway through the third quarter when Roy Hall blocked a punt by David Bradley and Donte Whitner recovered the ball in the end zone.
Iowa cut the lead to 17-10 on a trick play early in the fourth quarter.
