NBA: Chicago 101, New Orleans 91

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Eddy Curry scored 25 points and Donyell Marshall grabbed 17 rebounds Thursday night as Chicago held on for a 101-91 victory over New Orleans.

Curry made eight of 14 shots from the floor and nine of 12 free throws in the exhibition contest. The Bulls shot 47 percent and went 20 of 24 from the line.

Jamal Crawford scored 16 points and Kendall Gill and Roger Mason added 13 apiece for Chicago, which had a 54-37 rebounding advantage.

The Bulls played without first-round pick Kirk Hinrich. Scottie Pippen sat out with a sore left knee, Tyson Chandler and Eddie Robinson were each sidelined with a strained lower back and Jalen Rose did not play due to a sprained thumb.

New Orleans' Baron Davis scored 25 points.
