Kansas City grabbed a 5-3 lead in the seventh on consecutive RBI doubles by rookie Ken Harvey and Mike DiFelice, but Chicago answered with four runs in the bottom half.

Joe Crede and Sandy Alomar Jr. started the inning with singles off D.J. Carrasco (6-5). After the runners moved up on Roberto Alomar's sacrifice, the White Sox tied it as Carlos Lee had a sacrifice fly and Frank Thomas an RBI single.

Ordonez followed by hitting the next pitch over the center field fence for his 28th homer of the season.
