NY Yankees 6, Baltimore 3

BALTIMORE, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Roger Clemens continued his climb up the all-time wins list and Alfonso Soriano homered Tuesday as the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles, 6-3.

New York has the best road record in the major leagues and has been especially dominant at Camden Yards, where it has won seven of eight games this season. The Yankees moved closer to their sixth consecutive American League East Division title.

Clemens (15-9) allowed three runs and seven hits in seven innings. He struck out four en route to his 308th career win, which tied Hall of Famer Hoss Radbourn for 16th place all time.

Mariano Rivera needed just eight pitches in the ninth for his 38th save as the Yankees won for the 10th time in their last 11 games.
