Baltimore 33, Cleveland 13

BALTIMORE, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Jamal Lewis set an NFL single-game record with 295 yards rushing Sunday afternoon as Baltimore routed the Cleveland Browns, 33-13.

Lewis shattered the previous mark of 278 by Corey Dillon of Cincinnati, and set the tone for the day with a franchise-record 82-yard touchdown run on the Ravens' second play from scrimmage. It was the longest run in franchise history.

He added a 62-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter, secured the record with seven minutes remaining when he picked up three yards up the middle on 3rd-and-15, giving him 280.

Entering the game, Lewis had rushed for 543 yards in four meetings with Cleveland, including a career high-tying 187 yards at Cleveland last season.

Matt Stover and Wade Richey kicked two field goals apiece, and Ed Reed had two interceptions, returning one 54 yards for a touchdown to end the game as Baltimore bounced back from a season-opening loss at Pittsburgh.

The Browns fell to 0-2.
