Karlsson leads Omega European Masters

CRANS-SUR-SIERRE, Switzerland, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Robert Karlsson shot a 4-under 67 Friday and, at 10-under 132, holds a one-stroke lead over Eduardo Romero of Argentina in the Omega European Masters.

Last year, Karlsson shot 65 and 66 in the first two rounds to open a four-shot lead. This year, the defending champ's margin is tighter after Romero also shot a 67.

"I'd be very happy to lose the lead tomorrow and get it back on Sunday," the 6-5 Swede said. "It seems I get into a pretty good flow on this course and if you get it going you can pretty much birdie every hole."

Ernie Els, who shared the lead with Karlsson after the first round, shot 69 Friday and is two shots off the pace. Trevor Immelman of South Africa had a 66 and is tied with Els and Michael Campbell of New Zealand, who shot 67.
