PHILADELPHIA, July 19 (UPI) -- Tomas Perez's two-out, RBI single off rookie Hector Almonte in the 11th inning Saturday gave Philadelphia a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Montreal.
The Phillies improved to 7-1 in extra-inning games this season, including a 5-2 victory in 12 innings Thursday. Philadelphia's bullpen, which is ranked second in the National League with a 3.00 ERA, pitched three scoreless innings.
Dan Plesac, the first reliever, struck out the side in the ninth inning. Rheal Cormier worked a perfect 10th and Jose Mesa (5-5) pitched a scoreless 11th with two strikeouts.
The Phillies scored the winning run in the bottom of the inning on Perez's bases-loaded hit. Jim Thome, who hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning, doubled with one out in the 11th.
