Chicago Cubs 4, Cincinnati 3

CINCINNATI, June 16 (UPI) -- Moises Alou and Eric Karros hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the sixth inning Monday as the Chicago Cubs took a 4-3 victory over Cincinnati.

With one out in the sixth and the Cubs trailing, 3-2, Alou drilled a 1-1 pitch from Jimmy Anderson (1-3) over the left field fence to tie it. Karros hit Anderson's offering over the center field fence, giving the Cubs their first lead.

It was Karros' first homer since his three-run shot off Juan Acevedo of the New York Yankees cost Roger Clemens his 300th victory in Chicago on June 7.

The Reds got two runners on in the ninth, but Joe Borowski struck out Barry Larkin for his 14th save.

Matt Clement (5-6) settled down after a shaky start to record the win. He allowed three runs and nine hits in six innings with a walk and nine strikeouts.
