Houston 8, NY Yankees 0

NEW YORK, June 11 (UPI) -- Six Houston pitchers combined for a history-making no-hitter Wednesday night in an 8-0 victory over the New York Yankees.

Never before had so many pitchers shared in a no-hitter in a major league game.

It was the first time a Yankee team was held hitless since 1958, the longest stretch for any team in baseball history.

Roy Oswalt started for Houston but went out with a groin injury in the second inning. Five relief pitchers -- Peter Munro, Kirk Saarloos, Brad Lidge, Octavio Dotel and Billy Wagner -- all worked in the no-hitter.

It was the second no-hit game this season. Philadelphia's Kevin Millwood tossed the other one on April 27 against San Francisco.
