LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- Kevin Brown pitched seven strong innings Tuesday night to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

In the win, Paul Lo Duca hit his first home run of the season, and the Dodgers scored first for the first time in 12 games.

After allowing their opponents to score first in each of the last 11 games, the Dodgers got on the scoreboard initially in this contest when Lo Duca belted a 1-2 offering from Philadelphia starter Randy Wolf over the wall in left field in the third inning.

Brown (2-1), who helped his own cause with a sacrifice fly, recorded his first win in five starts, allowing one run and five hits. While improving to 7-5 lifetime against Philadelphia, Brown did not walk a batter and struck out seven.

Cesar Izturis went 3-for-4 with two RBI, and Adrian Beltre homered for the Dodgers, who raised their record to 8-0 when scoring at least five runs.

Mike Lieberthal homered for the Phillies, who had their scoreless inning streak snapped at 20 on Lo Duca's blast.
