Columbus 5, Detroit 5 (OT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 4 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk scored with 12 seconds remaining in the third period Friday night to lift the Detroit Red Wings into a 5-5 tie with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Playing his 76th game of the season, Columbus' Marc Denis was 47 minutes shy of the single-season record of 4,433 minutes played in a season, set by Martin Brodeur in 1995-96. With the Blue Jackets holding a 5-3 lead, he broke the mark in the third period and finished the contest with 4,451 minutes.

But Kirk Maltby pulled Detroit within a goal with 4:01 to go before Datsyuk took a pass from Brett Hull and beat Denis from the low slot to earn the Red Wings a point and give them a share of first place in the West with Dallas.

Both teams have one game to play.

David Vyborny and Andrew Cassels each had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who recorded their first point in five meetings with Detroit (0-4-1).
