Philadelphia 4, Pittsburgh 2

PHILADELPHIA, March 20 (UPI) -- John LeClair scored his second goal of the game seven minutes into the third period Thursday night to snap a tie and lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are winless in their last 14 games.

It was the third multi-goal game of the season for LeClair, who has five tallies in as many contests since a 47-game absence due to shoulder surgery.

While on the power play, LeClair took a pass on the doorstep from Michal Handzus and flipped a high shot past the stick side of rookie goaltender Sebastien Caron at 7:06. LeClair knotted the game midway through the second when his intended pass for Handzus caromed off Caron for his 700th NHL point.

Defenseman Eric Desjardins and Tony Amonte also scored and Mark Recchi had three assists for the Flyers, who improved to 18-1-0 in the last 19 home meetings with the Penguins.

Rico Fata and Mathias Johansson tallied for Pittsburgh, which fell to 0-13-1 since an overtime victory over St. Louis on Feb. 22.
