BRADENTON, Fla., March 15 (UPI) -- Craig Wilson hit his third home run of the spring in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday to lift the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Matt Herges allowed one run and one hit with two strikeouts in the eighth inning and got the win. Scott Sauerbeck gave up one hit and struck out the side in the ninth for his first save of the spring.

Rookie Marlon Byrd, who is expected to replace Doug Glanville as Philadelphia's starting center fielder, had two hits and three RBI.

Rheal Cormier allowed the homer to Wilson and took his first loss of the exhibition campaign.

Jeff Suppan, who signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh in January after spending the last five seasons with Kansas City, allowed two runs and five hits in five innings.
