Florida 4, Philadelphia 2

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Roberto Luongo made 44 saves Saturday night as the Florida Panthers completed a perfect three-game road trip with a 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Luongo made 12 of his saves in the third period and Marcus Nilson and Viktor Kozlov had a goal and an assist apiece for Florida, which put together the successful trip after a winless four-game homestand.

The Flyers drew within 3-2 after some unorthodox tacticts as Philadelphia pulled goaltender Robert Esche with 3:30 left in the final period.

Jeremy Roenick scored his 20th goal of the season with 2:46 to go to edge the Flyers within a goal, but the strategy backfired just under two minutes later when Kristian Huselius fired the puck the length of the ice for an empty-net goal.

One of Luongo's most important saves came between the two late goals, when Keith Primeau took a wrist shot from the slot with 2:16 to go. The shot came from a dangerous spot, but Luongo was able to make the stop.
