Nashville 4, Phoenix 3 (OT)

NASHVILLE, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Scott Walker scored 37 seconds into overtime Saturday night to give the resurgent Nashville Predators a 4-3 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Returning to the lineup after missing two games with a neck injury, Walker gave the Predators their first three-game winning streak in nearly 13 months when he backhanded the puck past goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier.

Nashville appeared to have won the game in regulation as defenseman Jason York scored a power-play goal 2:18 into the third period. But Coyotes defenseman Paul Mara forced overtime with his fourth goal of the season with 74 seconds remaining.

Walker also tallied on the power play 5:03 into the second and defenseman Andy Delmore opened the scoring for the Predators 4:03 into the contest.

The Coyotes, who played without Tony Amonte, got goals from Shane Doan and Claude Lemieux. Amonte was sidelined with a rib injury, ending the NHL's longest active consecutive games played streak at 453.
