Boston 6; Vancouver 3

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Sergei Samsonov scored the go-ahead goal with 2:08 remaining in the second period Wednesday night as the Boston Bruins posted a 6-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

In Boston's first two games, it encountered the neutral zone trap in Minnesota and future Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy in Colorado, but in the second period, Vancouver's sloppiness allowed the Bruins to get their offense going.

Samsonov, who scored the game-winner with one second left in Monday's 2-1 victory at Colorado, was all alone as he streaked down the slot. Linemate Joe Thornton was behind the right goalpost and fed Samsonov, who whipped a quick slap shot from the top of the left circle over the right shoulder of goaltender Dan Cloutier.

Harold Druken, Todd Bertuzzi and Daniel Sedin scored for the Canucks, who are winless in their last four meetings with the Bruins (0-3-1).
